Bragging Rights

Do you love your life? Do you feel like you live in the best city in the world? I got to experience that tingly feeling all over again when Rachel, Gabe, and I took a road trip back to San Fran! Rachel asked me what the highlight of my trip was, and I honestly could not pin point THEE best moment because the whole trip was my highlight. I've missed skyscrapers, 70 degrees year round, Chinese people, recycling bins, oh yeah, AND THE BEACH.
People laugh, because in Provo there are literally multiple church buildings on the same block. Well, in San Fran, imagine those church buildings are Starbucks (which works perfectly because people really do worship Starbucks there). I haven't been back in almost a year and Rachel almost four years, so it was a much needed trip.
(Sorry there are so many pictures, they are mostly for my mom...)

True Life: If I was a boy, my dad wanted to name me Swensen, and call me "Swen" for short. Every morning I wake up, I thank the heavens I'm a girl.

He could not wait for the beach, then passed out as we arrived.

Oh yeah, then I went to a Lil Wayne concert with these gals!

The second I graduate college, I'm headin' back to San Fran!

Family Time

A couple of weeks ago we had a family reunion at Bear Lake. We stayed in these cute little cabins and had so much fun. Four wheeling, boating, hot tubing, EATING, s'mores....we did it all.

BYU is kind enough to give us 2 weeks of summer break, so during that time I went up to Salt Lake and stayed with my sister at her house. We watched movies and ate and ate and ate and shopped and
ate.

Just sittin' on a toilet watchin' some T.V.

We went to the water park with these cute babies!

Embarrassing Encounter with the Maintenance Kind

Embarrassing story #948723749:
My roommates and I liked to call our old apartment building a "fish bowl". The apartments are courtyard style so they all face each other, and the walls facing into the "fish bowl" were glass. So there was literally NO privacy in my old apartment. People could see what you're watching, what you're reading, what you're wearing, what you're cooking ect.,. I moved into my  new apartment last week and I'm taking full advantage of all the privacy and freedom I have.
The other day, I was home alone after work. I locked the front door and started making dinner in my bra and underwear. I was minding my own business and feeling jolly because the front door was locked right?
The front door knob started to jiggle so I thought it was one of my roommates; a little awkward since we've only lived together for 2 days but not totally embarrassing. Oh no no no, in fact it was NOT a roommate but a maintenance man. He walked straight into the kitchen while I shuffled into the living room. Then there was this awkward silence for 10 seconds. He said "Oh.....sorry....I didn't realize anybody was here".......another 10 second awkward pause "....dooooo you want me to leave?" I was too embarrassed and I didn't want to over react so I just said "Oh no, no you're fine!"
So there I was, sitting on my living room coach, eating my corn on the cob in my bra and underwear with a maintenance worker in the other room.
He left for a couple of minutes so I used that time as my quick getaway to the upstairs. When I closed the door, I realized I left my cellphone in the kitchen and I didn't have my laptop with me. So the only thing I could do was listen to my ipod that was plugged into my speaks ( I didn't have headphones). So I'm sitting there, bored, listening to my ipod......and then the maintenance man turned off the power.
So there I sat, trapped in my bedroom, sitting on my bed, in the dark.
I could have put clothes on and gone back down stairs....but the shame of seeing him again was too strong.

More Summer Reading

I feel so accomplished. Five books in one summer? Go. Me.

I love Shannon Hale books. She is SO cute. Her books are such an easy read. I read A Book of a Thousand Days in one day. Austenland was adorable and I loved it (probably because I felt like it was an autobiography). It's basically about a woman who is obsessed with Pride and Prejudice/ Mr. Darcy/ Colin Firth. She goes to a type of "rehab" to help her get over her addiction but of course ends up falling in love (as all good books end).
And the good news is....there's going to be a sequel! Holler!

Am I pathetic or what? I FINALLY read the first Harry Potter. I started reading it the day after HP 7 pt 2 came out.
Loved it.
Not gonna lie, while I was reading it, I was just imagining the movie characters, but that's ok. I didn't mind. Now I have to read the other six!

I've succumbed to society's pressure and read The Help. And just like society... I loved it.
Ummm, Hilly is the devil. Literally wanted to punch her in the face multiple times. And although Skeeter didn't like her life, for some odd reason I wanted to be her. Oh yea, and in my mind..Stuart looked a little something like this. I can't wait to see the movie!

Ok ttyl. I'm watching the new Jane Eyre with my sister therefore all attention must be devoted to the movie. If you haven't seen it...you haven't lived.

I've taught him everything he knows.

Oh hi. Have I mentioned I'm obsessed with my nephew?
Here are a few reasons why:
1. Super cute
2. Super chubby
3. We have matching hair color
4. Literally makes me laugh until tears come out
5. This video.

His favorite show is So You Think You Can Dance.

R.I.P HP

I know I'm a late blogger, so forgive me.
But Harry Potter must be blogged about no matter how long ago the movie came out.
The reviews said it all. Amazing. Epic. Tear-jerker. Emotional roller coaster. Best movie of my life.
Is there a scene that I did not cry in? No.
Is there any couple I love more than Ron and Hermione? No.
Did I finally receive closure with Snape? Yes.
Is Malfoy still a hotty even though he is a resident villain? Yes.
Were the battle scenes epic? Yes.
Did I sit in my theater seat and stare at the blank screen for 10 minuets after the movie? Yes.
Will any other midnight premiere ever be the same? No.
By far one of my all time favorite movies= H.P. 7 pt. 2
I hesitate to tell the world this shameful fact, but I hadn't read any of the Harry Potter books yet. I'm proud to say all that has changed. The 7th movie came out on July 15th. I started reading the first book on...July 15th and haven't been able to put it down since. Once I finish the first book, I'm going to take a quick break and read The Help, then continue on reading 2-7.
I'm going to miss all those midnight premiers! Here's a walk down memory lane of all my H.P. midnighters.
My first H.P. midnight premiere. So young, so innocent.
So attractive?

 Best seats in the house.

and now....my last H.P. premiere. It's the end of an era.

The last scene, when they are putting all their little babies on the train to Hogwartz....couldn't even control my sobbing tears.

Hotwork

This is just one of the reasons I love them so much. Ever since my sister and I went to their concert 5 (!!!!) years ago I have had a deep love (like, I love them more then chocolate on the beach) kind of thing for them.
Christ Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow isn't all that...

Coldplay, please come to Salt Lake on your tour instead of Brazil and South Africa. BORING.
